View the library catalogue online from work or at home, via the Find a Book tab on the Quick Links menu or the eLibrary icon on the desktop of any trust computer.

Registered users can borrow 10 books for up to 4 weeks at a time.

You can reserve, renew and review books online with your library account using your Reader PIN

If there is a book that you want to borrow, but the library does not stock, you can request it and we source it from another library for you.

If there's a book that you feel the library should buy, suggest a book for our stock via the Quick Links Menu.



The library holds a growing number of E-books which can be accessed via the catalogue or our E-books page.

In order to borrow one of our E-books, you will need an Open Athens account. You will automatically be signed up when you join the library, or you can self-register.

You have the option of reading e-books online or downloading them to your tablet or computer, (please note if you are downloading to your computer you will need Adobe Digital Editions or Bluefire Reader).

You can borrow an E-book for up to a fortnight if you download it, or for three days if you read it online.

Most of our current journals are now available online using your OpenAthens account. You will automatically be signed up when you join the library, or you can self-register.

You can either browse the A-Z list on My Journals or enter the journal title you require into the search box.

The library holds some current print journals (at Stafford site) and older issues which can be used for reference purposes.

If we don't stock the article you are looking for, you can request an article via Quick Links menu.

These are the best way to find articles and other research on a particular health or social care topic.  

Use the Healthcare Databases Advanced Search (HDAS) to gain access to the latest research and evidence from healthcare databases such as PsycInfo, CINAHL, Medline or Embase.  

Log in to the HDAS via the NICE Evidence website using your Open Athens username and password. If you do not have an Open Athens account you can self-register.
